Download Minecraft 1.17.30.23 for Android with a working Xbox Live: use the new features of the global update like colorful candles, fragile amethyst crystals, and a spyglass that will increase your view!
The experimental world generation beta for Minecraft 1.17.30, released August 25, 2021. This Android APK of beta 1.17.30.23 brings major world generation features from the upcoming 1.18 Caves & Cliffs Part Two update behind the experimental features toggle. It completely changes how terrain generates, but expect slow performance on older devices.
The biggest change is a completely new terrain and biome generation algorithm that creates way more natural-looking landscapes and smoother biome transitions. When you enable the Caves & Cliffs experimental toggle and create a new world, you'll get 3D biomes with multi-noise generation that makes the world feel dramatically different from current generation.
The surface decoration system has been improved too - it can now tell the difference between blocks generated underwater versus underground, leading to more realistic terrain features and structures.
Mining gets more strategic with the introduction of large ore veins scattered throughout world generation. Instead of just strip mining at specific Y levels, you'll need to explore and locate these massive ore deposits, completely changing how you approach resource gathering.
The beta introduces "noodle caves" - small winding pathways that connect the bigger cave systems together. These create a more interconnected underground network that makes cave exploration feel more natural and rewarding.
There's also the possibility of dry cave entrances that make it much easier to access the new noise caves without having to swim through water or dig through walls.
World generation is expected to be quite slow in this beta, especially on older Android devices. Mojang is aware of the performance issues and working on optimizations before the official 1.18 release, but those fixes aren't ready yet. You'll want to be patient when generating new chunks.
Beyond the experimental features, there are some smaller improvements. Campfires and Soul Campfires now stack in your inventory, making storage more convenient. Candle Cakes drop their candles when pushed by pistons, which fixes some redstone contraption issues.
The beta adds experimental queries for item cooldowns and improves error messages in Molang content. Data-driven blocks can now be added to the creative menu, and there are fixes for particle emission issues and first-person attachable rendering.
Iron Golem spawning logic has been tweaked to better match Java Edition behavior.
This beta 1.17.30.23 APK is all about testing the massive world generation overhaul that's coming in 1.18. The experimental features completely transform how Minecraft worlds look and feel, but you'll need patience for the slower generation speeds. It's a significant preview of the future of Minecraft terrain generation.
